Cocktail Dresses N’ Drinks: Lemon Pomegranate Champagne
Cheers!
Who’s relieved to have almost made it through the holiday season with their sanity intact?
This girl right here.
There’s only one more big event before it’s back to reality and this one should (hopefully) be stress free – New Year’s Eve.
To help you celebrate in style, my girl Sarah of Sarah Stowell Style and I have another edition of Cocktail Dresses N’ Drinks.
Today’s outfits are from Ted Baker, and while they’re not traditional cocktail dresses, they are super fun and fashionable.
On Sarah: Neria Embellished Neck Playsuit (on sale!) // David Yurman Cable Cuff // Steve Madden Heels
On Whitney: Zelida Ribbed Midi Skirt // Britnee Ribbed Crop Top // Stella + Dot Rebel Stone Necklace // Gorjana Blakely Crest Cuff // Aldo Gold Heels (similar)
Sarah is rocking one of her signature looks — an adorable jumper — while I’m sporting one of this year’s most popular trends – the crop top and high-waisted midi skirt combo.
To go with our lively looks, we whipped up an equally effervescent beverage: a Lemon Pomegranate Champagne Cocktail.
This delicious drink is made with fresh squeezed lemon, fresh pomegranate juice and a bottle of bubbly.
Garnished with lemon zest and lightly sweetened with honey, this healthy holiday cocktail is a low-cal option for your New Year’s festivities.
- 1 Lemon
- ¼ C. Pomegranate Juice
- 1 tsp. Honey (or sub stevia)
- Handful of Ice
- 8 oz. Champagne
- Pomegranate Seeds (optional)
- Cut lemon in half.
- Squeeze half of the lemon into a cocktail shaker and use the other half to make lemon zest.
- Add pomegranate juice, honey and ice to the shaker.
- Shake it up!
- Strain juice from shaker into two champagne glasses and top with champagne (about 4 oz. in each).
- Garnish with pomegranate seeds and lemon zest.
You can make this tasty beverage by the glass or fill a huge punch bowl with it for a New Year’s bash.
As I mentioned in the last segment, pomegranate provides a nice dose of antioxidants to counteract your celebratory sins (at least a little bit).
