Quintessential California: My Engagement Photos
I know what you’re thinking — engagement photos? Aren’t you getting married in three weeks?
The answer is yes, and the excuse is I’m a horrible wedding planner.
Bridal bootcamps? I’m on it. Sweating for the wedding? In the bag. Scheduling anything actually related to the big day itself? Help.
Somehow though I managed to schedule our engagement photos just under the gun, and landed one of the best wedding photographers in town.
Scott Clark — a regular contributor to Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes, and his wife’s blog 100 Layer Cake — made our engagement photo session a delightful experience, taking us to some of the prettiest spots in Los Angeles.
We started by catching the last hours of sunlight overlooking the ocean in Topanga Canyon State Park.
The view of the canyon is stunning in the late afternoon and I made a note that we should definitely come back soon for a hike.
After exploring the sun-soaked, golden fields in Topanga, we headed down to the beach to watch the sunset.
A lot of people told me prior to our session that it was going to be super awkward and encouraged that we “take the edge off” with some pre-shoot cocktails.
However, I found the whole thing to be easy, breezy!
If you’re looking for a stress-free, fun experience for your big day in LA, I suggest you look up Scott.

You guys look wonderful! I think this is the first I’ve seen of Mr. Live and Diet too! And my hubby and I took our engagement shots in Florida, because we lived there at the time. I remember telling him not to be awkward — yet in the photos — I am TOTALLY the awkward one and he looks great. Of course! :) Have a great weekend, Whitney!
Whitney English says:
Haha “Mr. Live & Diet” – can’t wait to tell him that one :) I’ll bet you looked totally fab and natural in yours too!

Thanks for sharing with us, it looks really exciting. It is very important to find a photographer who can capture the atmosphere of your holiday so accurately. At one time I found the best here https://www.belmontphoto.dk/ . Let after the holiday you have a ton of various photos, which will then be very pleasant to flip through, and they will definitely not bother you.

Hello, dear community! I’m preparing for my role as a groomsman and looking for inspiration for my performance. Can you share examples of great groomsmen speeches that you’ve heard or used yourself? I’m looking for something that is personal, touching and memorable.

When I was planning engagement photos, I knew how important the right settings would be. One crucial aspect is contrast in photography, more about it on this website It helps to create depth and make the subjects pop against the background. I learned to adjust my camera settings to find the perfect balance between light and shadow. This made my photos more vibrant and engaging.
