10 Most Instagram-Worthy Wall Art in Los Angeles
Check out the most “Instagramable” wall art on Melrose Blvd. in Los Angeles + print out a walking tour map to see them yourself!
Los Angeles has a ton of cool wall art.
From Venice to Hollywood, there are endless, ever-changing murals and artistic graffiti to catch the eye.
Melrose Blvd. in West Hollywood, a popular destination for shopping and foodie delights, is a particularly saturated street and the Instagram-worthiness of its wall art is apparent by the large number of tourists and bloggers you’ll find snapping pics there on a daily basis.
As a resident Angeleno, who lives very close to this social media mecca, I laugh when I pass spots like the famous pink Paul Smith wall and see a swarm of decked out fashion bloggers striking a pose while security attempts to control the contrived media frenzy.
But I get it. I’m a blogger who loves to travel — if you follow my Instagram account then you know I’m the first one to bust out a yoga pose in front of every interesting landmark I see.
People often ask me how I stay fit while I travel and my answer is — explore!
Checking out an area on foot is the best way to get exercise while taking in everything the city has to offer. Walk, run, jump, yoga around and by the end of the day you’ll have moved more than you would have in any hour-long studio workout.
Recently, my friend Katie of Love Sweat & Fitness (an incredibly sweet, and inspiring chick who has the best YouTube video workouts) came up to LA for the day so I thought I’d play tour guide and show her around my hood — naturally, visiting the most Instagram-worthy Melrose walls.
From the long-standing favorites like the pink Paul Smith store wall and the “Made in LA” wall to new and fleeting works of art, there is always something interesting to see (and Snap).
While they do change frequently, Katie and I have rounded up our ten favorite LA walls of the moment, and mapped them out in an easy-to-follow route.
The whole route is less than two miles and should only take about an hour to do (including time for the requisite photos). If you’re visiting LA and want a fun, exercise-oriented outing — and a great opportunity to take #fitspo photos with your fitnessistas — I highly encourage you take our Melrose wall tour.
Check out the first five walls here, and then head over to Love Sweat & Fitness for the other five!

PS – if you’re wondering how Katie and I look so bronze in the middle of winter, it’s thanks to Loving Tan. Katie recently introduced me to this incredible, natural ingredient self-tanner, and it’s seriously the best I’ve ever used! Get it here.

I used to read your blog all the time (got kind of out of blogs during grad school because I was drowning lol), but finally have time to read things for pleasure again. You gave me advice years ago and I was so touched by your personal contact with readers. I’ve seen you on tv at my gym multiple times now and am so happy for you! Congratulations on all of your success!!
Whitney English says:
Hi Tara, thank you so much for the kind note! I appreciate your ongoing support over the years. I completely understand getting swamped with school – I hope it’s calmed down for you a bit and that all is well! xoxo
