Simply Stylist CEO Sarah Pollack Boyd Shares Her Tips for Fit Fashion
Fashion is obviously not my niche — unless you considered a 24/7 uniform of black leggings and a knotted tank sporting a slogan like “Mo Yoga, Less Problems” on-trend — then I’m super hip.
I’m not saying I’m unfashionable, but I’ll be the first to admit no one stops me for street style pics — I’ll leave that to fashion bloggers.
So when I need a little guidance on what to wear beyond the workout studio, I turn to authorities like Sarah Pollack Boyd, LA style icon and creator of the fashion/beauty conference Simply Stylist.
Sarah hosts workshops and informational sessions for beauty and fashion bloggers in LA, NYC, and Chicago with top speakers in the industry, in addition to managing websites for top style influencers like Alessandra Ambrosio, Jamie Chung, and Shay Mitchell.
The new mommy is also incredibly well-dressed and inspirational in her own right.
Last summer she appeared in Target’s swimwear campaign promoting real women, of all shapes and sizes. Love it!

Q&A with Simply Stylist’s Sarah Pollack Boyd
Q: What’s your healthy living motto?
Everything in moderation. I don’t deprive myself of dessert, or kick myself if I haven’t worked out in a month. I eat healthy MOST of the time, try to stay active MOST of the time and I’ve found that living this way really reduces the guilt. I don’t do any of the fad diets because it only works for so long.
Q: What’s your favorite way to get your sweat on in LA?
I love boxing! I take classes with 4-Time World Champion, Terry Norris. It burns so many calories, defines ALL of your muscles (even muscles I didn’t know I had) and keeps you moving and doing different workouts nonstop for an hour like running, sit-ups, punching and freestyle boxing. He pumps up the hip-hop music and you just get in your zone.
Q: Favorite healthy LA eats?
Café Gratitude is always a great go-to for a healthy lunch. Their juices and smoothies are so delicious and fresh! The “I AM Whole” bowl is filled with tons of healthy veggies and is my go to there. I’m also a sucker for an acai bowl – my two favorite spots are Earth Bar and Backyard Bowls (and I love stalking @rrayyme on Instagram for new recipes too).
Q: What’s your go-to brand for fit fashion?
I’m a Nike girl. They’ve got great fits and styles that are tried and true. If it’s more of a ‘wear my workout gear all day’ type of outfit, I’d wear Koral or anything from Bandier.
Q: What’s your favorite fit fashion trend right now?
I’m loving the leggings with mesh cutouts! So cute. I wear them around all day.
Q: What fit fashion trend do you wish would go away?
The super skimpy outfits! I already feel like it’s all hanging out wearing tights and a tank. No matter how great of shape I’m in, I cannot workout in a tiny sports bra and shorts!
Q: Who’s your “celebrity fitspo?”
I think Jessica Alba has a flawless body, especially after having kids! She’s fit but not too skinny. Curves in all the right places. Alba’s got it going ON!

Q: OK, spill. What are 5 must-haves for every fit fashionistas?
1. Vitamix – for healthy smoothies.
2. Spotify – it’s all about the music when you’re working out. Put together a great playlist, and the workout time will seem so much shorter.
3. Cute Kicks – have a fresh new pair of Nike’s and it will make you want to get out and work out.
4. Stylish Gear – I am loving the leggings with mesh. Koral has some good ones. Check out Koral’s adorable leggings >>

Totally :) You’d think balance and moderation would come easily but they do take work to master! xo
