Finding Balance in Belize with CALIA by Carrie Underwood
When I decided to take on my month-long “sweating for the wedding” challenge, I specifically chose to end the challenge the day I left for Belize instead of on my actual wedding day — thinking I wouldn’t want to work out on vacation.
However, choosing the goal of exercising daily — instead of something more intense like “losing x lbs” — proved to be habit-forming in a positive way, and something I simply didn’t want to give up when I landed on the island.
I found that including a fun, fitness activity in my day provided me with that healthy balance I’ve always been looking for, unlike when exercise felt forced.
So everyday in Belize, I continued to enjoy some form of endorphin-boosting exercise.
From kayaking to volleyball to swimming, snorkeling, and bike riding, each day I naturally worked in an athletic activity — not because I felt like I had to, but because I wanted to.
Finding balance in life between exercise and other daily activities is an overarching message of music superstar Carrie Underwood’s new fitness line, CALIA by Carrie Underwood.
I was asked to test drive her adorable new activewear, and after hearing their message of balance and “staying the path” (rather than killing yourself for weight loss), it made perfect sense for me to incorporate this cool, floral gear into my island getaway.
I tried out their pretty pink tank top and printed capris for an easy jog and light yoga sesh on my first morning on Ambergris Caye.
The material is super comfortable and breathable – essential in the humid Caribbean weather.
Women’s Essential Printed Tight Fit Capris ($65) // Women’s Essential Tank Top ($30) // Women’s Inner Power Perforated Bra ($33)
While I absolutely love the look and feel of CALIA, what I like the most (as I mentioned before) is the message behind the brand, something Carrie Underwood exemplifies.
A happy, healthy life means being a balanced babe, not a slave to extremes.
I think the most important thing when it comes to health and fitness is that you find what is right for you and you stick with it. You don’t overexert yourself. You don’t go all out for a week and then fall off the wagon the next. You find balance and you stay the path.
My motto is: the “best” fitness or diet plan is the one that works for you.

I think i you incorporate exercise as part of your life – it does not always fel like a separate “workout” but just something that you do. Cute clothes – love the new line!

Whitney, one of my finest WOW yoga moments was a class I took on the beach. When doing a forward bend, the view between my legs was the ocean! What a moment that was! You are a wonderful example of balance. Congratulations.
Whitney English says:
Thank you so much Suzanne! The ocean really is a powerful centering force :)

I am so happy for you Mrs. Tabaie :-)
Healthy eating is a hobby. I think it is fascinating and fun. Spending time on it is a break for me. I also LOVE how relaxed I feel when I have worked out.
Whitney English says:
I totally agree! I always feel very zen after a good sweat :)

You look amazing Whitney and your wedding pics on FB are stunning! Can’t wait to see when you post on the blog. I was just reading about Carrie’s line and will definitely check it out, especially because I’ve always been a fan of her’s and like you said, it’s a good message behind her brand too. Those are some of the cutest workout pants I’ve ever seen and I really like how the top ties at the waist.

Whitney English says:
Thanks so much Dale!
I love these pants too. They definitely bring out my girly side :) And the shirt doesn’t come knotted – but I often like to do that with my workout tanks

I’m all about getting in a little exercise while vacationing — even if it’s just walking around a lot to explore!
The CALIA gear looks super cute.
I’ve always wanted to go to Belize. It looks beautiful.
Whitney English says:
Yes, walking on vacation is such a great workout – and definitely underrated! When we went to Rome a couple of years ago I downloaded the Moves app and at the end of one day of sightseeing, I realized we’d walked 10 miles!
Arman @ thebigmansworld says:
This. This just shows it’s a part of your every day life instead of a one stop shop until the main event.
Happy Wedding W.

Thank you so much Arman :)
