A Night at the Brooklyn Museum
Happy Memorial Day Everyone!
I just returned from a quick trip to New York City for my pal Laura’s wedding and am using the day off to get things in order before a busy week ahead.
It’s always nice to have a day in between vacation and the work week to do things like grocery shopping and meal prep — two essential activities with my wedding less than two weeks away.
This will actually be my last week in town before I leave for Belize! I wish I could say I had the time to tie up loose ends with wedding prep but it’s also finals week for my prerequisite classes, so things will be a bit chaotic.
In the interest of using my time wisely, today I’ll be sharing some quick highlights from my trip to NYC.
We’ll be back to our regular programming on Wednesday with a awesome No Gym Needed Leg & Butt Workout I created in Central Park!
You may remember Laura — the creative bride who decided to have her Bachelorette weekend at a yoga and surf retreat in Nicaragua.
Well, her Brooklyn Museum wedding was equally mind-blowing.
The three day celebration kicked off with her rehearsal dinner at The River Cafe, with what must be the most amazing views of NYC possible. Located on the water, under the Brooklyn Bridge, you can see the whole city skyline, dotted with landmarks like the Empire State Building.
The next day, the ceremony was held inside the lobby of the Brooklyn Museum, followed by dinner and dancing among the Monets.
Laura looked absolutely stunning, as expected, in her custom gown.
The food was spectacular as well, with an elaborate dim sum spread during the cocktail hour, a fantastic dinner speckled with fresh edible flowers, and an immaculate undressed cake from Momofuku.
Even the escort cards, engraved in glass, expressed this couple’s impressive originality.
The following morning we bid adieu to the lovely new couple, who were featured in the New York Times, with a lively brunch at the scrumptious Radegast Hall & Biergarten in Williamsburg.
When we weren’t having our socks knocked off by this incredible wedding, the fiancé and I spent our free time working out in Central Park and enjoying tasty, healthy eats around town.

Another all around fabulous trip to the city.
As I mentioned before, be sure to come back Wednesday for my Central Park Workout – the last in my no equipment needed exercise series.
Have a fabulous holiday!

Wow, what a beautiful wedding! And I must say I’m totally intrigued by Chloe’s soft serve. I don’t believe it was open yet when I was still living in NYC. Will have to hit it up next time I’m in the area!
Whitney English says:
Chloe’s is amazing! It’s pretty much the same as the Banana Froyo I make at home! My only gripe is that they add a little sugar and I think the fruit tastes fine all on its own. Still way healthier than anything else out there though!

What a beautiful wedding! I love the blue dress you wore too. Look forward to seeing the new workout on Wednesday! Good luck with your studies.
Whitney English says:
Thanks Lauren! The dress is from BCBG if you’re interested: Hailee Drape Dress. xoxo
