LDLA Alert: ‘Code Black’ Premiere
If you’re into documentaries, here’s one you don’t want to miss.
Code Black, the term used when an emergency room has reached maximum capacity, provides a penetrating look at America’s broken health care system.
Through the eyes of a group of young residents at LA’s County Hospital — deemed the busiest ER in the country — we see the challenges faced by doctors struggling to help suffering patients amidst endless bureaucratic impediments.
The film is pretty awesome (and I’m not just saying that because my good friend Dr. Arash Kohanteb stars it, holler). It won Best Documentary at the Los Angeles Film Festival and the Hamptons International Film Festival, and Audience Favorite at the Aspen Film Fest and Starz Denver Film Fest.
Its national release premieres in L.A. this Friday, June 27th at the Landmark Theatre.

I will definitely watch this because I feel like we’re watching so many documentaries and Frontline now too. :) Congrats to Arash and from the trailer it looks like a very intense documentary. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, thanks for this. Here is the crazy thing. I am a huge fan of Grey’s Anatomy and you see stuff there and you think it is so far fetched but seeing this trailer you see some of this stuff is real. Ugh… I had goosebumps watching this. Thanks for the heads up!

I am a documentary nerd – so this is definitely up my alley!

I love a good documentary. Healthy lifestyles and the state of healthcare are something my husband and I are always trying to educate ourselves about so we can be more informed. That teaser was fantastic!
