My Fall 2015 Fashion & Beauty Must-Haves
Real fall weather has finally arrived in L.A.
After weeks of blazing temps, last night I was able to step out of the house in boots, jeans, a sweater, and a scarf — and it was totally temperature-appropriate. I’m psyched.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the heat (I am a native Arizonan after all, raised on cactus + UV rays). However, I am also a creature of comfortable and I love all the cozy styles that fall affords.
In preparation for this perfect time of year, I’ve been stocking up on all the necessary goods to keep myself looking and feeling great in the cooler weather, and today I want to share them with you guys.
Here’s a rundown of my must-haves for fashion, beauty, and stylish living this season!
A washable cashmere sweater
There’s never been a replacement for cashmere — well, until “technical cashmere” came along.
This super functional fabric has all the benefits of regular cashmere — comfort, luxury, and style — but it’s washable!
I stumbled upon this at the Kit & Ace store in San Francisco and was instantly intrigued. I’m notorious for neglecting to properly care for my clothes, so the fact that I don’t have to worry about ruining this sweater is a big appeal.

A chic scarf
Next to boots, scarves are my favorite fall accessory. They instantly add style to basic outfits.
As a student and fitness enthusiast (who spends most of her time in sweaty workout gear), I don’t have a lot of time to spend thinking about my wardrobe on a daily basis.
Throwing on a cool, printed scarf helps me look more put together with little effort.

Distressed denim
Boyfriend jeans with ripped knees and frayed edges are basically the fashion blogger’s version of a fitness blogger’s black leggings. A major staple.
I recently started rocking a pair and let me tell you – it’s a nice break from my black yoga pant uniform. It says, “I tried to look good, but not that hard.” The tattered style provides casual, on-trend comfort and goes perfectly with all of this season’s adorable booties, sweaters, and scarves.

A pendant necklace
I looove pendants. I’ve been wearing the same statement-making solid gold one for years now and I always get compliments on it.
Pendants are such a cool eye-catching accessory to add a little flair to a basic fall sweater or chunky knit dress. This one is particularly awesome with a mysterious looking stone center, making you feel like you’ve got a powerful spirit-warding talisman around your neck (no, just me?).

Exfoliating pads
Wind and cold brought on by fall can cause your skin to look a little dull, which is why I’m so obsessed with my recent discovery of these little circles of skin brightening magic.
The pads contain 10% AHA and BHA, fruit extracts, and chamomile to soothe the skin, and are so easy to swipe over your face before bed. They remove dead skin cells, and give your face back that bright summer glow.
Age-defying Exfoliating Pads by Radical Skincare, $75
Toxin-free self-tanner
With the disappearance of the sun, so too, my tan is MIA.
I used to get spray tans on the reg until I started wondering what kind of weird chemicals I was inhaling in those misty orange chambers. Now, I’ll self-tan during the fall using foam before a big event.
I recently found this amazing, toxin-free bronzer containing mineral self-tanner that you wear daily to slowly build a subtle color that will last through the sunless season. It works in place of your usual bronzer and looks totally natural.
Trystal™ Self-Tanning Bronzer via Vita Liberata, $45
A versatile pair of booties
Every gal needs a great pair of booties for fall. Something to toss on with jeans or pair with a cute dress + army jacket for a date night.
These faux-suede, knit-lined booties are so comfy and casually chic for fall. They’re cute enough for brunch with your gals or for more rugged fall activities like apple picking and Haunted Hayrides through Griffith Park!

A bottle to support breast cancer
October is almost over but there is still time to show your support for breast cancer awareness.
This limited edition bottle of Chardonnay from One Hope Wine goes toward clinical trials for breast cancer treatments. One Hope is also offering women an opportunity to host their own wine tasting event with custom invites and decor – more info on their website.

I wasn’t sure if the ripped knee jeans were still in but if you are wearing them out in LA then we can too :)
Whitney English says:
Yes, they still are! At least 95% of the fashion bloggers at this event I went to recently were sporting them – so it’s safe to say we’re in good company with ours :)
Krissy @ Pretty Wee Things says:
Oh I love the idea of ‘technical cashmere’! I too am terrible at neglecting the washing instructions and so often shy away from dryclean-only items. I will be on the hunt for that cashmere sweater when it starts to get cooler (quite a few months away now!).
Whitney English says:
Yeah, I was so excited to discover it too! I can’t tell you how many things I’ve accidentally washed that were dry clean only – several were my husbands and he was NOT happy, whoops!!
Devon @ Devon Victoria says:
That scarf! I am a scarf ADDICT – ha! They are the one winter thing we can get away with here in Southern California without looking tooooo silly in our warm weather hehe. Love that one! Hope you’re well :)
Whitney English says:
Me too!! Except I actually did have someone make fun of me for wearing one when it was 85 the other day haha!
Morgan says:
These all seem like great finds! It’s always so much better to kick off a new season with new beauty products and essentials at hand! Nice work! Thanks for sharing!
