My Bohemian Dining Room Makeover with Mr. Kate
Something really exciting happened recently.
I got a makeover!
Well, not me actually. My house got a makeover — the dining room specifically.
You see, when we moved into our new home in January, we had absolutely no time to decorate. Between our wedding, friend’s weddings, school, blogging, and training, there wasn’t much time left to focus on décor.
That’s what I tell myself at least. Another explanation could be that I’m hopeless when it comes to design — but I’m going to stick with the “too busy” excuse.
Anyway, when my friend sent me a listing for a top secret home makeover show, I jumped at the chance to have someone help me out.
I mean, what’s a healthy food blogger without a place to eat her healthy meals?!
It turns out the listing was for a new show called Breaking Beige featuring the fabulous DIY Blogger Kate Albrecht aka Mr. Kate, and her hubby Joey.
I showed Kate my Pinterest vision boards, and the girl ran with it. She knew exactly how to capture the hippy chic, bohemian dining room vibe I was craving.
When I saw what they’d done with our unsightly brown room, I was shocked (in a good way).

Kate and Joey were able to work in pieces that we already had in our house in with a bunch of cool new stuff they found and made.
I am no longer ashamed to invite friends over for dinner.

Yes, I would agree, renovation is always very expensive, especially now that all the materials have gone up in price. But I found an option because they will do it on a budget. I contacted moderntiling.ie who provided me with well tilling and they did everything quickly and on budget. I really liked this solution for repainting the tiles they laid without seams. By the way, they give a warranty on the work.
