PUMA Fall 2014: Fashion Meets Performance
I’ve said it before — but it cannot be overemphasized — having cool workout clothes really makes you want to workout more.
While ratty old shirts with chocolate frozen yogurt stains may seem like a comfortable gym option, they should only be sported at home on the couch…while eating chocolate frozen yogurt.
I’m always excited when I get new gear, because I know I’ll get at least three weeks of major gym motivation out of it.
Even more exciting? When your gym clothes are cool enough to sport out of the weight room as well. PUMA’s new fall 2014 line of active and loungewear is just that — uber cool.
With on-trend colors like mint green and fashion-forward details like sheer paneling, cutouts and harem pants, their new fashion and performance looks will have you looking hip whether you’re headed to bootcamp, vinyasa class or just to grab a cup of coffee with your workout buds.
Last week I got to try out two of their new looks from head to toe and I’m sharing them today with you.
The Active Look
Mint Green Tank Top, $45 // Graphic 3/4 Tight, $45
I tested out the look during an impromptu backyard bootcamp at my friends house and loved the whole ensemble.
The top is super flattering with it’s adorable criss-cross back and the pants were comfortable and breathable. The shoes, which feature a special technology to maximize your body’s natural movement, were incredibly lightweight and supportive.
I’m looking forward to distracting Groomzilla in this outfit at the gym this weekend.
The Fashion Look
Gym Loose Tank, $35
Studio Capsule Pants, $60 // Narita V2 Sneakers, $65
I don’t have to tell you why this is called the fashion look. I think it’s pretty obvious.
This outfit is so stylish that some chicks in LA would probably toss on a pair of heels and wear it to a Hollywood party. Well, not any chick — I’m thinking a sporty A-lister like Jessica Alba could pull it off though.
I on the other hand thought it was perfect for a low-key stretch sesh, followed by a poolside hang with friends. The pants are just as comfy as they look and the top is so fun with it’s subtly sexy peeks of skin.
The best part about all this stuff is how reasonably priced it is. Like, $35 for a workout tank — that’s a steal.
But I’m going to do you one better.
I’m hooking you up with a 40% off discount on all Puma gear, in-store or online. Simply use the code: PUMAFIT14 at checkout. The deal is only good through Monday though, so jump on this ASAP.
Also, if you have a PUMA outlet near you, this same code will actually get you 50% off. Yeah, that’s right. You’re welcome.

Oh my gosh, I love the mint green top and graphic tights. Most of my workout clothes are black, because I have to wear that as a personal trainer, but I can be more creative when I teach group fitness classes and that’s where this colorful PUMA gear would come in handy. I LOVE it all. So cute and so fashionable. Thanks for sharing!
Pam S @ Nuts for Nutrition says:
You’re a good fitness model!
Love the gym loose tank!
Khushboo says:
Okay so I def don’t want to work out with you..at least not until I update my workout wear to something more chic! Obsessed with all these outfits, especially the Gym Loose Tank & Mobium XT running shoes..work it, girl :)!
Caroline Kaufman says:
I’m loving the fashion look – adore the back cut-out. But you look cool and fit in both :)
Miss Polkadot says:
If only mint green looked good on me – the top is awesome as are the shoes. You look fantastic in both outfits.
Though I’d prefer the warmer weather to stick around I have to say I prefer autumn running clothes. I got some long purple graphic tights a while ago but it was too hot to wear them in summer.

These clothes really are a steal! I love those crops omg I WANT THOSE CROPS! You are so super cute Whitney! I would totally dress up athletic gear with heels, I actually do it all the time for work! Have a great weekend!
Whitney English says:
Thanks Karen! And I bet you look pretty bomb in spruced up sports wear :)
GiselleR @ Diary of an ExSloth says:
I bought new workout gear last weekend and I’ve been to the gym 4 times this week already (as opposed to zilch the week before) so I totally feel ya.
Also, I love both shoes, the first pair of tights and the second tank the best. I’m about to use the hell outta that coupon code :D
Kim says:
I love that tank and the 3/4 tights!!! I’ve finally gotten to the point that I will wear tights again (I didn’t for years – too hippy) with the right tops – might need those!
Suzanne Gibson says:
Love your posing, Whitney, esp the perfect tree. Looking great.
Whitney English says:

OMG LOVE both of these! I love nothing more than cute workout clothes. These are both great picks but I love the fashion one best. Going to see if I can still use that code on that top! I’m a huge fan of open backs, it’s the perfect amount of sexy for the gym. Those pants look amazing as well but I’ve been sworn by my husband not to buy any more sweat-ish pants :) How were the first shoes for running?
Whitney English says:
Haha my man doesn’t exactly love me sweat pants either :) I didn’t actually try running in the shoes unfortunately since I’m still healing my stress fractures but I can vouch for them as a great cross-training shoe!
