My Top Green Beauty Products
These green beauty products are made with non-toxic ingredients to ensure the smallest impact on your health and the environment!
What you put on your body is just as important as what you put in your body – our skin is our largest organ so it’s important to make sure you’re using clean, non-toxic, green beauty products. Today, I’m talking about my favorite products.
FYI, this post is NOT sponsored. These are just my favorites that I hope you’ll love too!
SHAMPOO + CONDITIONER
First up, shampoo and conditioner. My favorite hair products at the moment are the Peppermint and Echinacea Vivacious Volume duo from Acure.
I have really thin hair, so I need hair products that aren’t going to weigh me down, and that’s why I love these.
BODY LOTION
Next up, body lotion. I have extremely dry skin, so I use lots of lotion. And as lotion is something that you put all over your entire body, it’s something that is especially important when it comes to green beauty products.
I like this Lavender Body Butter from Andalou Naturals. It’s luxurious, yet affordable, and it smells amazing.
FOOT BALM
Moving farther down south to the feet, I use this Citrus Cardamom Foot Balm from Sparitual. They also have awesome Vegan Nail Polish, which is free of the 12 top toxins that are normally found in nail polish.
FACE SERUM
I used to think that if I put anything on my face that was really oily that it was going to cause pimples, but I’ve actually found just the opposite. Now, all I use on my face are oils and serums.
I use a Wild Carrot serum concentrate from Odacité. This particular one is said to support a vital glow, and each one of their different serums is targeted to a different type of skin condition.
HAIR + BODY SERUM
I like Ranavat Botanics Hair and Body Serum, which helps to moisturize damaged hair, or you can use it on your body.
I also use Honest Beauty Organic Facial Oil. You can use it day and night, and it’s really affordable.
SUNSCREEN
The second most important thing for your face after your serum is sunscreen. However, a lot of sunscreens have chemicals that soak in your skin, get in your bloodstream, and cause many potential problems.
Instead of the chemical-laden sunscreen, you can use zinc-based sunscreen. I use this SPF 30 “5 In 1” Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen from Suntegrity.
DEODORANT
I used to be a major skeptic of natural deodorant, mainly because I thought it didn’t work. After finding this Lavender Deodorant from Schmidt’s though, I was sold. This stuff is incredible. It totally keeps smells at bay and it’s pretty darn affordable.
I also like Death by Lavender from North Coast Organics. These two deodorants are very similar formulations, but this one also comes in a travel size, so it’s perfect for on-the-go freshening up!
ESSENTIAL OILS
I stopped using regular perfume when I transitioned to green beauty. We don’t know what manufacturers put in “fragrance”, and it can cause a lot of irritation for people that have sensitive skin (like me). So, I started using essential oils.
I use AuraCacia for both night and day. I like the Ylang Ylang III to use at night and their Renew Body Care for the daytime.
I also like Saje Fortify Blend – I use this whenever I’m feeling a little bit stuffed up at night. The menthol from the peppermint helps to open up the sinuses, so it’s a great natural alternative to Vicks VapoRub.
SELF TANNER
Lastly, self tanner. I wish I didn’t like to use self tanner, but hey, it’s better than getting a sunburn!
Most self tanners are terrible and have all kinds of nasty chemicals in them. This self tanner from Beauty By Earth is the only self tanner that I’ve found that meets the criteria on the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) Skin Deep Website, which I highly encourage you to check out.
You can put in any product that you use, and they have a huge database that will tell you if the ingredients are safe and non-toxic.
This one shows up as safe on the EWG’s website, and it works really well.

Hi Whitney! Love your blog (seriously, as someone who embraces a plant-based lifestyle with intuitive eating, you saved me!)! I found this article very interesting, but I do want to note that EWG has come under a lot of controversy – it seems like a very legit organization, but apparently it’s not actually all that credible (see https://www.forbes.com/sites/kavinsenapathy/2016/07/12/would-you-rather-buy-organic-or-poison-your-family-ewg-wants-you-to-pick-one/#23dcd52863ac). I used to rely on it pretty heavily, and now I am lot more wary of its ratings!
Whitney E. RD says:
Hi Holly, thanks for sharing and for your kind words about the blog! I checked out the Forbes article and the article from “Activist Facts” that Forbes sourced for the majority of its criticisms, and I have to say, I disagree with a lot of their issues with EWG. They suggest that EWG isn’t warranted in warning people of the harms of certain compounds such as phthalates, yet the Endocrine Society has an entire position paper outlining the multitude of issues with these compounds and other similar endocrine disruptors. I have a hard time taking the Forbes/Activist Facts articles to be credible when they deny the well-documented harms of compounds like phthalates and BPA.

I agree that beautiful hair is very important and I always carefully choose haircuts and hair care! I love this blog because there are a lot of shoulder length haircuts ideas here https://glaminati.com/sexy-shoulder-length-haircuts/ ! I think that this length of hair is very stylish and beautiful! What do you think?
Sarah says:
I came across this article on the best green beauty products and it’s great to see that people are becoming more conscious about what they put on their skin. Going green is a great way to take care of your skin and the environment. In addition to the recommendations mentioned in the article, I would like to suggest another way to invest in yourself and improve your well-being – enrolling in these beauty courses, where they can provide valuable knowledge and skills that will help you look and feel better, which will positively affect on your self-esteem and self-confidence.
