Easy Vegan Apple Crisp

This easy vegan apple crisp is made with whole grains and is lower in sugar compared to traditional recipes for a healthier dessert option.
  • 4-5 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • ⅓ cup maple syrup
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • 1¼ cup whole wheat flour
  • 1½ cups rolled oats
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup coconut oil, solid
  1. Preheat oven to 425.
  2. In the bottom of a greased baking dish, combine apples, syrup and lemon juice.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine all remaining ingredients, then cut in the coconut oil forming a crumbly mixture.
  4. Top apples with crumble.
  5. Bake uncovered for 50 minutes.
  6. Serve warm.
