Five Things Friday
As the saying goes, “Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.” Still, I’m pretty happy it’s Friday.
In the interest of appreciating every moment we have though, I’d like to share five things from the week that kept me happy in the moment.

Favorite Kitchen Appliance
My new All-Clad 4-Square Waffle Maker
After experiencing the life-changing waffles that this baby churns out when I was housesitting for my friends recently, I decided I simply must have one.
This waffle maker is without a doubt the best out there (and I was not compensated or gifted to say that). Yes, it’s a little pricey — but so is a Vitamix, and we all know how essential those are. I’ve made healthy waffles about 10 times in the past two weeks since buying this thing. #everydayimwaffling

Favorite Exercise
The Kettlebell Swing.
I’ve done the kettlebell swings many times in bootcamp classes but I never truly appreciated them until recently. I added them to my weight training routine at the gym this week, and wow, I am feeling the difference. This move does wonders for your glutes, hamstrings and abdominals. If you aren’t already doing them, I highly recommend you add this exercise to your leg day. Your booty will thank you.
Note: just make sure you’re doing them properly or you could hurt yourself. This article from Men’s Health will help.
Favorite Athletic Wear
BeyondYoga’s Longevity Legging
These are the softest pair of yoga pants I have ever worn, ever. My only caution is that once you put them on, you may want to snuggle up on the couch instead of go workout – they’re that comfy. I got these at the launch party for Studio MDR‘s new East side studio last weekend and they’ve already made the weekly workout rotation twice. Don’t worry, I washed them in between.
*Side note: Studio MDR is the shiz. My core was aching for three days after the class. If you like Pilates, this place is one of the best. Just ask my new friend and Megaformer-devotee, The Chic Wife.

Great favorites! I really enjoy the quotes. I am a big fan of swings and use them a lot in my workouts too. Getting my hair done was a big plus for me this week! It was long overdue. It always makes me feel so much better. I also starting reading Girl Boss! It’s a fun read. Enjoy the weekend!
