The Skinny Conf’s Lauryn Evarts Talks Sweat & Seduction
Lauryn Evarts is one hot babe.
So it’s no surprise that girls all over the world look to her and her blog, The Skinny Confidential, for diet, fitness, fashion, and general lifestyle advice.
Lauryn has such a wealth of in-demand knowledge that she recently decided to put it all down in her new healthy living bible handbook: The Skinny Confidential: A Babe’s Sexy, Sassy Health and Lifestyle Guide.
I got to chat with the gorgeous blogger recently to get the scoop on the new book, and so much more, including her advice for the bedroom.
Yeah, it’s about to get steamy up in here.
Q&A with TSC’s Lauryn Evarts
Whitney English: What sparked you to start your blog, The Skinny Confidential?
Lauryn Evarts: The idea of The Skinny Confidential came about when I was attending San Diego State University and finding it difficult to find healthy options. It kind of was a light bulb moment.
WE: Where do you get your nutrition info… articles, experts, school, etc?
LE: I find inspiration from everywhere; from doctors, friends, articles, ISSA ( my schooling ), books, magazines, my friend Annie Lawless who owns Suja Juice, & many online sources.
WE: What does an average day in your diet look like? Sample breakfast, lunch, dinner?
LE: I don’t have a set, routine diet. It changes everyday. But some of my favorite foods that I love are hummus, avocados, eggs, wild salmon, sashimi, berries, arugula, tangerines, tomatoes, kale, fresh pressed juices, Kombucha, any veggies, coconut (coconut cookies !!!!! // oil // flakes // fruit ).
WE: What’s one “healthy” food that you would never touch?
LE: Good question! I would literally eat anything in the name of beauty and health. I plug my nose and get over it. Something I’m not the biggest fan of (but will still eat) is collard greens.
WE: Coconut oil and kale have been extremely trendy health foods for a while now, what healthy ingredient do you think will start the next food craze?
LE: Ha ha, collards! I also think weird-ass fruits will make their debut. Like, fruits that we’ve never heard of. I also think that red meat will become less popular. People are starting to find other sources for protein like seeds, eggs, salmon, sashimi, etc.
WE: What do you think are the three biggest mistakes women make when it comes to health/fitness that keep them from achieving their goals?
LE: Hormones, hormones, hormones! I cannot tell you how many women are confused about hormones. Hell, I’m even confused about hormones. Number one is def hormones. Number two is switch it up. I see so many people doing the same work out over and over again. Every week change it up. And lastly, stay away from sugar free, fat free, diet free and light. Eat real, real food.
WE: In the book, you mention (a few times!) that sex is a great workout activity. It sounds like you have a a very healthy love life! How do you keep things fun and fresh in your relationship?
LE: I love to cook, turn on Al Green, and/or use coconut oil as massage oil. I’m realllll into ambience: candles, music, lighting, flowers, and home cooked meals. Most importantly though, I love to laugh. My boyfriend & I are constantly laughing. Anything witty turns me on!
WE: You have an amazing bod, but everyone has their problem areas. Spill it, what’s yours and how did you get rid of it (because I clearly can’t see one)?
LE: Thank you! I would say my problem area would be my butt. If I gain weight, that’s where it goes. So you can constantly find me doing squats, lunges, and side lunges. Also, staying away from meat and dairy have been amazing for sculpting my ass.
WE: Who are your celebrity fitspo’s?
LE: Def Jennifer Aniston. She lives a total healthy lifestyle as oppose to a diet, and I love it. I also love Miranda Kerr. She’s all about organic, healthy products. I also have a total girl crush on Margot Robbie. She was in The Wolf of Wall Street and totally has a rockin’ bod. I respect all these women because they don’t starve themselves. They seem to live a super balanced lifestyle.
WE: What’s the most random piece of info we’ll get in your book?
LE: Probably how addicted I am to eyelash primer. I’d rather not wear mascara if I don’t have eyelash primer. My whole love affair with it can be found in the book. I know that sounds weird but it’s a real game-changer.
WE: What’s the number one reason someone should buy The Skinny Confidential book?
LE: They should definitely buy The Skinny Confidential: A Babe’s Sexy, Sassy Health and Lifestyle Guide because there are a lot of tips that I don’t share on the blog. Mainly beauty tips and a bunch of skinny recipes that I haven’t shared. My best friend of ten years called me the other day and was surprised to learn a bunch of new information she never knew! So if you like the blog, you’ll love the book.
Kristina @ Damn Ten Pounds says:
I couldn’t agree more on hormones!!! Girls our age don’t realize how out much birth control and stress are throwing our hormones out of whack. I think most people assume they don’t have to think about them other than puberty and menopause. Whenever I’ve been unusually exhausted for more than a month, I get mine tested and take action if they aren’t balanced (usually switching my pill). And get a B12 shot. Picks me right back up! Glad she focused on this :)
Whitney English says:
I don’t know very much about hormones. I’m definitely going to do more research now!
