How Lisa Vanderpump Keeps Her Hottie Post-50 Body
All of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have insanely banging bodies.
But what’s truly impressive is just how fit 53-year old Lisa Vanderpump is considering the restaurateur has a surplus of delicious — and probably not always healthy — food at her disposal.
With her tight little physique, you would never guess she is the oldest member of the cast (I won’t say who I think looks the oldest though. If you want to hear women insult each other, watch the RHOBH Reunion).
Lisa has always had an amazing body though. A quick Google search will turn up countless photos of the former model and actress looking fab in a bikini.
Unlike some of the other women on RHOBH, Lisa is still not afraid to show off her hot bod in a two-piece, revealing she’s looked pretty much the same for the past 30 years.
So how has she managed to stay so fit while filming two reality shows, managing two restaurants, and running a houseful of high-maintenance men? FYI, I’m talking about Giggy and Rumpus Pumpus (not Ken).
Q&A w/ Lisa Vanderpump
Whitney English: How do you and Giggy stay active?
Lisa Vanderpump: Well Giggy would love to spend his life being carried around, but I make him walk for at least a half an hour a day. I put him on the ground and make him run with our 5 other dogs. I walk on the treadmill for about 40 minutes a day, but I’m very industrious when I do it. I’m either on the phone or on my iPad.
WE: What are your favorite outdoor activities?
LV: I love being outside, by the beach, with my dogs. I still feel like everyday I’m on holiday here. It’s an incredible experience to live here after being brought up in London. When I look out the window of my house it’s like I’m living in the country, this green, beautiful view.
WE: Working in the restaurant business, it must be hard to not overindulge. How do you keep your diet in check?
LV: I try not to eat carbs at night, but I am a restauranteur so I do have a passion for wine and I can’t help that. I eat reasonably healthy but I still eat chocolate, potatoes, and pasta. I’m probably chubbier than I should be — in my butt — but you know, everyone could probably stand to lose a few pounds. I try to keep it together but I don’t take it too seriously.
WE: Well you look fabulous to me! How has your diet and exercise changed since you were younger?
LV: I’m 53. Years ago I used to go rollerblading on the beach, but those days are over. You can’t eat exactly what you want to anymore, which is hard, because I used to eat three big meals a day. Now I have breakfast, a light lunch, and not too much at dinner. But I do eat a bar of chocolate everyday and I do have a glass of wine, so I’m not perfect.
WE: Are there any food you consider off limits?
WE: What do you like to make at home?
LV: I love to cook. I love traditional English meals. One thing I make once a week is a great roast chicken with a lot of warm vegetables and a salad with onion, cucumber, mushrooms, and the juices of the chicken and potatoes.
WE: Last year you were on Dancing with the Stars, if you were to ever try a reality competition show again, what do you think you’d excel in?
LV: Well, I was a great waterskier. And when I say great, I mean I was the second or third woman in England to barefoot ski. Not anymore though, I could have done that 20 years ago.
WE: And obviously I’ve told you repeatedly now that I think you have one of the hottest bods in the RHOBH cast, but if you had to pick someone other than yourself, which Housewife do you think has the best bod?
LV: Well I wouldn’t pick myself! Carlton looks really fit. She’s not too skinny, good proportions, but they’re all fabulous.
Despite the fact that it looks like Lisa is currently on the outs with many of her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ cast members, this chat just made me that much more enamored with the sassy, quick-witted Brit.
