A Christmas Greeting & Announcement
Every year, I contemplate sending out Christmas cards, and every year I wait until it’s too late. So this year, I figured why not just post a Christmas greeting here.
Please read to the end of this post for an exciting announcement!
This year has been such a whirlwind.
This time last Christmas, we were just getting to know our new baby, Mr. Chow.
Now, he’s a full-fledged member of the family and we recently celebrated his fourth birthday.
This September the BF took me on my very first trip to Europe.
Earlier this year, we ran a 5K and both dropped our times by about two minutes!
In April, I revamped the blog…
…and in October I quadrupled my traffic!
And finally, the biggest announcement of this year, the BF and I decided…
…to buy a new couch!
Oh yeah, and I’m going back to school.
Wait, is that the first time I’ve mentioned that?!
Yep. Starting Spring 2014, I’ll begin taking the pre-requisites I need to pursue a Masters in Nutrition and start a Coordinated Dietetics program. The long term goal is to become a Registered Dietician.
I’ve known this for quite sometime actually. In September, I went from working at SheKnows full time to freelancing part time and focusing on the blog, while I prepared to begin school. I was hesitant to talk about it before though because I felt like it wasn’t “real” until I was actually enrolled and taking classes.
But I can’t keep it in any longer!
For everyone who enjoys the celebrity content on this site, don’t worry. I will still be living and dieting in L.A. and I will still be reporting on celebrities and entertainment on this blog and for other outlets. I’m just re-focusing the subject of my writing to reflect the things I’m passionate about (whether Justin Bieber is retiring or not is not one of them).
I’m nervous about how long and arduous this journey will be (probably over 4 years), but I’m also extremely excited.
I plan on bringing you all along with me every step of the way! Don’t worry, I won’t bore you with any Chemistry :)
Wish me luck!
I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season and are excited to begin a new year.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Good luck pursuing your new degree! A few years ago, I knew my company was cutting back and I would be most likely losing my job so I dropped everything and went back to school. I’m glad I did!

I have a hard time getting new furniture right now when we can’t keep the two dogs off of it but it is definitely something we need to do! Speaking of dogs, yours is adorable! And that picture of the two of you in Paris is so beautiful it could be a post card! Thanks for sharing!

I don’t know how I am just now seeing this, but CONGRATS! As a career changer to the field of dietetics myself, welcome! I’m just now completing my DPD coursework in the spring and applying to internships/grad school this year (unfortunately Arizona doesn’t have a CP otherwise I would have gone that route too). It’s extremely stressful and time consuming but it is SO worth it!
Whitney English says:
Thank you so much Kathryn! I might need to turn to you for advice at some point :) Can’t wait to read about your career journey. xoxo
