5 Fall Fitness Trends to Try Right Now
Faux leather leggings, shiny metallic shorts, comfy crops — fall is bringing so many adorable trends to the fitness scene!
Want to look stylish while you’re sweating it out?
Here are my must-haves for a fashion-forward fall…
1. Sweats
The comfy gear you usually reserve for private Netflix binge sessions is making its way to the street. With new stylish cuts — sweats are now a fitness babe staple.
I love this super cute crop top from Fabletics — perfect for Pilates, dance, or a yoga class (and of course, channel-surfing).
If you’re in the LA area, Fabletics just opened a new store at Westfield Topanga’s The Village. They also have some very cute men’s cropped sweats that I picked up recently for the hubs.
2. Subtle Prints
Many brands are shying away from popular in-your-face prints and opting for more understated designs. Looks that say – “I have a eye for fashion – but I don’t need to assault your eyes to show it.”
One of my favorites is the Rainfall print from Vie Active, specifically these super subtly cool leggings.
3. Layers
It’s not just for your fall sweaters anymore. Layering is a great way to incorporate your summer activewear into cool weather workouts. Try it by pairing hot pants and leggings or tanks and crop tops.
These metallic shorts from First Base would look super cool over some sleek black yoga pants.
4. Vegan Leather
Once known as “pleather,” faux animal hide has found a new, sexier title — vegan leather. It’s moved from fashion to fitness with cool detailed paneling in leggings to full-on bodysuits and hot pants.
Though you may worry about overheating in this fabric, it’s specially designed for breathability. The only heat you’ll need to worry about when wearing it is the heat you’ll be giving off walking down the street.
My favorite use of this fall fitness trend is in Koral’s Moto Legging.
5. Color Blocking
Color blocking is back and it’s making its way to your gym bag. The trend is popping up in some of the more fashion-forward lines in sophisticated fall shades like grey, blue, and green.
Keep it contemporary with fun cuts like this crop tank from the new collection, Derek Lam 10C Athleta.

Those faux leather leggings are delicious! They’d look lovely with the sweatshirt, no? I got a pair of Stella McCartney for Adidas leather-look leggings last year that I’m still obsessed with. Glad to see this trend isn’t going anywhere!
Ellen says:
Yea vegan leather! Makes my vegetarian heart happy:)

Love this roundup of fitness trends, although I think it makes me realize how terribly UN-stylish I am when I head to the gym. Man, I wish I was cooler. Those vegan leather pants are amazing, I would totally rock those. The subtle prints are so much more my speed, I have a few in-your-face pants from lulu that are a little much, the tinier print is much more appealing.

hahahhaha, your comments made me laugh! I will have to try and hunt those leather pants down, they look so comfy and so cool!

I love the color blocking and the patterned leggings. My favorite thing about fall is living in my yoga pants again :)
