I’ve Got Swoll News!
No, I didn’t spell “swell” wrong.
I’m officially a Certified Personal Trainer!
Yesterday, I passed my CPT exam through The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and can now formally begin providing exercise advice.
I’ve wanted to share my workout routines here in the past, but thought it best to wait till I was actually certified to do so — and now I am, yay!
While I’m still working out exactly how I plan to offer my training services, if you’re interested in working with me now or in the future, shoot me an email and we can discuss options: english.whitney@gmail.com.
In case you’re wondering, this does not mean I’ve strayed from my goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian. I’m still working toward that degree and will be applying soon to start a full Coordinated Dietetics program next fall. In fact, I begin my next round of pre-reqs — Physiology and Microbiology — on Tuesday.
Never a dull moment.

And to end on a sweet note, here’s a few delicious recipes that I recommend for a happy + healthy Labor Day Weekend…

Hi Whitney!
Congratulations to you. Welcome to the wonderful world of personal training, in which you can never stop learning or getting certifications. After getting my NESTA PT, I got a Kettlebell Athletics certification and am getting a pre-post natal certification next weekend, which I’m super excited about. Best of luck with your new endeavor, and looking forward to your exercise-related posts, as well as RD posts.
Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! I’m soaking up sun in Florida while visiting family, which is a good change for me because I live in San Francisco!

Hi Whitney,
Just seeing this post :) Congrats!! Are you working with clients yet?
I had a question about the Dietetics Program. Are you pursuing a bachelors or masters degree? I have a BS in nutrition. I’m wondering if i can sit in for the registered dietitian exam?
Would love your feedback. Thanks
Whitney English says:
Hi!! I’m teaching group fitness classes at Sweat Garage in WeHo and have a few private clients as well. As for the Dietetics program, the one I’m pursuing is called a CDP, “Coordinated Dietetics Program,” at CSULA. It’s 3 years – 2 for a Masters in Nutrition, 1 for a year-long Dietetic internship. You can definitely sit for the RD test with a BA in nutrition, you’ll just need to complete a year-long Dietetic internship first. Hope that helps! xo
