I remember how excited I used to get when my mom would take me back to school shopping. I’d load up the cart at Target with Lisa Frank Trapperkeepers, glittery stickers, the latest Crayola marker colors, erasers shaped like animals and, if I was lucky, maybe some new pogs (gotta be prepared for the lunchtime battles).
All my new gear would make the end of summer vacation a little less painful.
Well, just because you’re a “grown-up” now, doesn’t mean that back-to-school excitement should end. Every once in a while, you should treat yourself to a few new goodies to get you pumped for a new period of productivity in your adult life.
I’m talking about Back-To-Fit Fashion.
In the summer, it’s a little easier to stay on track with your fitness goals. You’ve got a lot more skin showing (instant incentive) and the weather is so nice that you can’t help but get outdoors and get moving.
But in the fall/winter, your enthusiasm may start to wane.
Bring it back with some fun, fitness gear just like you did when you were a kid.
I am loving all the cool printed leggings that are out right now. It really seems like fitness brands are starting to hit the sweet spot between fashion and function.
Accessories on my wish list for fall include stylish but comfortable sunglasses to wear running (my everyday Ray-Ban’s will not stay put), a durable yoga mat to replace the one that’s gotten smashed in the back of my car, and a hip calorie tracking arm band — my friend Claudia just got one and I’m having major fit-gear FOMO.
And, because summer really isn’t over in SoCal until about October, a chic swimsuit to go from the beach towel to the paddle board. Still hoping to squeeze in a YogAqua sesh before fall officially hits.

I totally agree that the need to show some skin in the Summer is incentive enough to work out. Now that it is cooling down, I need some stylish motivation. I have been eyeing Nike’s colorful running tights. Nothing vanilla about those babies. These ones are my favorite: http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/pd/epic-run-printed-cropped-running-tights/pid-724470/pgid-724471 but I am also loving the graphic Puma tights above! xoxo, Bethann
